The Story behind Sofics and its new logo

June 26, 2024 marks the 15th anniversary of Sofics – the day we became an independent company through a management buy-out. Looking backward, we see our great journey towards an ever-brighter future, shaped by many decisions that proved to be right. A key strategic choice was to focus, at first, to becoming a true IP company and later, to remain that.

We created – in-house! – a new logo to better reflect what kind of company we are and aspire to be.

“Solutions for ICs” is prominently displayed as a tag line. It spells out Sofics: So-f-ICs, solutions for ICs. The logo outline which represents an IC, re-enforces our focus to integrated circuits. As an IP company, we distinguish ourselves from service providers. But don’t be confused, we will provide the best service to our customers and partners: we deliver recurring value, not just time; we deliver unique value, not commodity. It’s the foundation of our business model.

Unique, recurring value is not only important for our customers and partners, it is equally (if not more) important in our relationships with our employees and stakeholders. We practice what we preach in all our engagements.

Our logo consists of two key parts: a blank space inside, surrounded by a gold-colored outer side. Central in our logo, and in our focus, is our customer’s core IC design. We are application agnostic – any function in silicon can benefit from our gold-medal device and circuit solutions.

Fifteen years ago, we were an ESD solutions provider. Today, we deliver that and much, much more. We develop, design and customize specialty I/O’s and peripheral circuits in all of the leading foundry processes – both in terms of wafer volumes (e.g. 180-55nm BCD and 40-22nm CMOS including SOI), as in most advanced technologies (all FinFET and GAA nodes). We aim to safeguard and leverage the core performance of our customers ICs. We enable earlier high-volume production for technology-leading foundries.
